Meet the Blogger: Lucy Mary

Introducing the lovely blogger that is Lucy Mary! You might already know her already, in fact, she's been shining bright on my Twitter ever since I started my blogging journey back in 2016. Lucy is always a total joy to speak with and as a fellow twenty-seven-year-old, I love her approach to life.

Lucy is a Welsh based blogger talking life with Cystic Fibrosis, fashion, books, mental health and everything in between. It seems this girls writing has no bounds and I applaud her for that.

Over on Instagram, Lucy floods my feed with her positive body image, feisty captions and clear message, which is exactly why I knew I needed to interview her for my first in this feature...

What inspired you to start blogging?

It was way back in November 2016 when I started blogging. I was inspired by one of my friends online Josie to start blogging as we both have the same illness (Cystic Fibrosis) and she was creating some amazing content and raising awareness for CF through her blog. She inspired me to do the same and I haven't looked back.

How would you sum up your brand in a few words?

I would say - relatable, funny and sassy. I can think of other words but I like to think that those are the main three I strive for in terms of creating and posting content.

What's one lesson you've learnt from blogging?

I've learnt so many things from blogging. Some lessons bigger than others! I would say the main one being that it is always best to just be yourself when blogging. Never try to imitate or compare yourself to others.

What aspect of blogging didn't you anticipate?

I never anticipated about how much blogging can cost. Obviously I know you don't have to make it cost a lot or spend an entire month's but with things like domains, self hosting, blogging props, sometimes there is a need to invest.

Do you have any long term blog ambitions or plans that you can share?

I would love to go full time with my blog, but the one thing drawing me back is the uncertain income. I like to know that I have a good, decent wage coming into my bank account. If I thought I could get a steady incoming blogging full time, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Also, I would love to start my own YouTube channel at some point this year! I've been kind of putting it off because I have no idea what I could talk about, but it's a word in progress!

Tell us something about yourself entirely separate from your blog?

When I was a kid, I learnt all the Steps dances off by heart and could probably still do them today!
